| Leigh Woods |
|
Only two miles from the city centre, Leigh Woods provides an incredible resource, with enormous potential for learning. With unusual and rare species of wildlife, archaeological evidence of past human occupation and links to great artist of the 19th century; Leigh Woods has much to offer educational visits. |
| The Hidden World Trail |
Available to school groups and families we have our own specifically designed children's activity trail through Leigh Woods. The Hidden World trail has been designed to enable teachers to plan school trips to Leigh Woods quickly and simply. It is a fun and fascinating way for children to learn more about their surroundings. "Explore the Hidden World" consists of a number of activities, each of which falls into one or more of the following curriculum subjects - Literacy, Science, History, Geography, Art, PSHE and Citizenship and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). So you can chose whatever combination of activities suits your lesson plans or use them as starting points for other work and further discussion. Set along the purple all ability trail it is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
"Explore the Hidden World" is available to download along with teacher notes. Alternatively, call 0117 973 1645 or e-mail us at leighwoods@nationaltrust.org.uk and we'll send you a copy.
